Once I hire you as my attorney, what’s the next step?
Peter Odom: That depends on what stage of the process you’re in. If you’re being investigated but haven’t been arrested yet, then the next steps are to establish a plan for how you want to deal with the investigation. That could mean beginning our own investigation into the allegations against you, finding out what evidence the police already have, and discussing whether making a statement to the police is in your best interest.
If you’ve already been arrested, the next steps are requesting evidence from the government, conducting our own investigation to gather as much information as possible, and exploring possible defenses to your charges.
